<div class="text_exposed text_exposed_root">UPF in cooperation with "Students for Sustainability" (also known as H&aring;llbart Universitet) will show the Academy award nominated movie "Sun Come Up" by Jennifer Redfearn. There will be a movie screening and discussion about the growing concern of climate refugees in the w<span class="text_exposed_show">orld. <br /><br />Sun Come Up is an Academy Award&reg; nominated film that shows the human face of climate change. The film follows the relocation of the Carteret Islanders, a community living on a remote island chain in the South Pacific Ocean, and now, some of the world&rsquo;s first environmental refugees.<br /><br />When climate change threatens their survival, the islanders face a painful decision. They must leave their ancestral land in search of a new place to call home. <p>Vi söker därför 3 personer med olika erfarenhet och bakgrund som är villiga att genomföra detta viktiga arbete, och har tid att slutet på mars och i april lägga ner ett par dagar på intervjuer med kandidater och interna överläggningar för att slutligen presentera ett förslag. Om du tror att du är rätt person för detta uppdrag ber vi dig att lämna in ansökan innehållande CV och personligt brev på max 1 A4 där du motiverar varför du är lämplig för detta uppdrag. In cooperation with Peace and Conflict Studies at Lunds University we will have a movie screening and a panel discussion about the movie &ldquo;Grandma&rsquo;s Tattoos&rdquo;. <br /><br />Grandma was not like any old gran<span class="text_exposed_hide">...</span><span class="text_exposed_show">ny. She was weird. Nobody liked her. She avoided physical contact. She never hugged, or wanted to be hugged. She never kissed, she never smiled. Her blue tattoos on her face and hands were appalling. The children were scared of her. <br /><br />What was wrong with grandma? Why did she have these tattoos? Who tattooed her? Yet these were the wrong questions to ask. The family refused to speak about the &ldquo;unspeakable&rdquo;. <br /><br />Filmmaker Suzanne Khardalian makes a journey into her own family to investigate the story behind her grandma Khanoum&rsquo;s odd tattoos. A story about a brutal past, about war, sexual violence and slavery. A journey in search for the truth. She worked at the Economist Intelligence Unit as a Middle East specialist, but left the EIU to research Arab media for a PhD and as a consultant to international organisations, including Article 19 and Amnesty International<span class="text_exposed_hide">...</span><span class="text_exposed_show">. Ms. Sakr is currently a Reader in Communication in the School of Media, Arts and Design at the University of Westminster.<br /><br />Our last lecture in the series concerning the Arab Spring will focus on the future. Where is Arab public service heading in a world filled with democratic rants and bloggers that won't step down? <br />Terrestrial broadcasting in Arab countries has been monopolised by governments for so many decades that it has become very challenging for Arab citizens to see a distinction between &lsquo;public sector&rsquo; and &lsquo;public service or between media that are state-owned and those that are government-run. <br />Will the protests in the Middle East change the media in a more open way, or will it close down all together?</span></div>
